VCF Mestalla will compete in a new edition of the Premier League International Cup
An Under-21 competition organized by the Premier League featuring 32 clubs from the Premier League and various countries across Europe
VCF Méstalla head coach, Óscar Fernández, assessed with VCF Media Satuday’s clash against La Nucía which will take place at La Nucía at 4 pm kick-off time at the Antonio Puchades on matchday 17 in group III – B of Segunda Divisón B.
"It’s a tough week, but there’s a little positive twist to it which is the fact that the boys are learning to experience a situation that we haven’t been in before. We’ve got to face what is coming with the motivation of turning the situation around to pick up as many points as possible towards the next stage.
It’s been a tough week but the boys are back at it. We’ve got an important home game coming up and we want to regain that self-esteem state of winning games give to pick up points towards the next stage. We can’t change the past, what we’ve got to do is to improve the present.
We saw what La Nucía are capable of in the first term, they’re a really good side who are doing things really well with a coach that knows the division really well. It’s going to be a game between two sides that need to win for different reasons one, in order to get promoted to Segunda B pro and the other to pick up points towards the next stage to stay up. It’s going to be an entertaining and hard-fought game where we will have to be really focused on ourselves to do things right to pick up that long-awaited win.
This is a process of development where we’re going to have a lot of difficulties being a club like Valencia CF most of the players haven’t been in a situation like this before. In fact, some of our players hadn’t lost back-to-back games in their careers. If there’s a positive thing to take is the growth that makes us experience, learning to live in a different situation having clear that we’ve got to keep picking up points which let’s not forget that is no other than securing safety and staying up in Segunda División B.”
